The Ducks had two new signings on the bench. Joining the club from Newport Pagnell was Paul Edgeworth, a striker or midfielder, and Byron Bubb (cousin of Alvin), who is a winger by trade, who has most recently been with Boreham Wood.
Aylesbury got off to a dream start, scoring after just three minutes. A free-kick was played in from the left-flank by Jay Gould, and Matt Hayward headed home, albeit with the aid of the flailing Lunan in Ford's goal. 1-0 Aylesbury
The Ducks were on top for much of the opening period, and Nadim Akhtar went close with a volley, after a pass from Gould dropped just over his shoulder.
Slowly, Ford regained initiative and started to create their own openings. Robbie Reinelt took a free-kick, which had to be well watched by Kevin Davies, before Craig Edwards headed a cross into the grateful keeper's arms.
A couple of corners caused Aylesbury problems on the twenty-minute mark. The first was headed just wide of the post by an Aylesbury defender, before the following set-piece was headed even nearer by a Ford player.
Paul Edgeworth was given his chance in the 25th minute, as he replaced the injured Rory Hunter in midfield for his debut.
Aylesbury were now somewhat clinging on to their goal advantage, but their luck ran out after half an hour's play. The ball was played into the muddy penalty area by Glenn Poole. Davies appeared to have the ball under control, but found the surrounding players too much to deal with, and the ball found its way free before being poked home by Ian McLeod. 1-1
Aylesbury came closest to scoring again before half-time. After Ford's Edwards had shot well over the bar, Lewis Pritchard shot on the turn, and his effort was deflected, requiring a smart save from Lunan.
Half-time: Ford 1-1 Aylesbury
The Ducks started the second half in appalling fashion, and conceded two quick goals. After Chris Perkins had fired a warning effort over the bar, from a free-kick, Reinelt gave Ford the lead. Another dangerous Poole cross found it's man, and Reinelt slid the ball into the net. 2-1 Ford
Things got worse for Aylesbury five minutes later, as Ford added another. Dean Fenton raced onto a superb through ball and calmly slotted the ball past Davies. 3-1 Ford
In response Paul Curtis brough Byron Bubb on for his debut, in place of Jay Gould.
Desperate to get back into the match, Aylesbury created a couple of decent openings. Ryan Wiffin linked up well with Pritchard for the first time of the afternoon, before firing in a shot which was straight at Lunan. Tom Alabaster then tried his luck from range, with a dipping effort that dropped onto the roof of the net.
A ten-minute spell followed of relative non-activity, as the game seemed all but won for Ford. The home side tried to add to their lead, as John O'Sullivan went close with a first-time shot which skimmed the bar. Alex Fiddes tried a rather ambitious effort from 40-yards, but it turned out to be a fantastic try, and called Davies into making a top save, as the ball curled and dipped under the bar.
Ford compounded United's misery deep into injury time with a fourth goal. Glenn Poole rounded off a satisfactory afternoon's work with a lobbed effort from the left-flank which left Davies no-where. 4-1 Ford
