The first chance came Aylesbury's way at the end of the 2nd minute when Fabian Garcia's low forward ball from the halfway line on the right found Remel Larwood who won a challenge with Lewis Pegg. The ball broke to the inside right of the box where the recovered Pegg appeared to trip Larwood but referee Rikki Woolford said no penalty.
Flackwell's first chance came in the 14th minute when Matt Ayres' free kick from 22 yards out on the right to the near post found former Duck Callum Mapley, whose header from 10 yards was gathered by Ducks keeper Jack Hopwood.

The Ducks suffered a blow when Charley Tuttle was injured and was replaced in the 32nd minute by Liam Batchelor-Morgan.
The hosts went close in the 42nd minute when Batchelor-Morgan won the ball on the left edge of his own box and drove forward before sending a long ball over the top to Larwood, who ran on and rounded Mapley before having his left foot angled shot from 10 yards deflected for a corner. The resulting flag kick from the left by Sonny French found Kian Henry at the far post, whose downward header from 4 yards was blocked on the line before the ball was cleared by Flackwell keeper Jack Brooker.
What proved to be the last chance of the first half came the visitors' way in the 43rd minute when a long Flackwell clearance was picked up by James Ayres on the right, who ran on before having his right foot shot from 25 yards just about blocked by Hopwood.
