The ladies started their pre-season fixtures with a trip over the border to play Beds & Herts League side Hitchin Hearts.
The match was played over three thirty minute periods due to the high temperatures which enabled manager Andy Foster to run the rule over a number of new faces.
The first section of the match was very much dominated by the Ducks although they were never able to make their superiority count.
United?s first chance fell to Kerry Naisbitt, who was set up by Twiggy Davis, but the young forward?s shot was well saved before Davis hit the rebound wide.
The duo were at the heart of things moments later when Naisbitt?s corner was volleyed just over before Davis burst through with a strong run but put her shot the wrong side of the post.
Laura Gardner had as shot saved before the home side had their first effort which was blocked by Georgia Smith.
Lucy Ilic?s long range effort was well held and Sakura Fachiri blasted a corner over the crossbar before Aylesbury had the ball in the net through Nicola Hunt. Unfortunately the effort was ruled out for offside.
Hitchin took the lead right on time as they broke free and beat Smith with a low drive against the run of play.
The second period was probably United?s quietest as the Hertfordshire team doubled their lead with a similar goal to their first just a few minutes in and Aylesbury were restricted to a handful of half chances.
The Ducks finally fired into life in the final half hour though. Twiggy Davis ran through the defence only to shoot wide and a minute later Nicola Hunt did exactly the same.
The breakthrough finally came with twenty minutes remaining when new signing Hannah Franklin slipped the ball in to Nicola Hunt and last season?s topscorer was relieved to see her mis-hit shot roll into the net.
Two minutes later the Ducks were level. Sakura Fachiri capped an impressive debut with a turn and powerful shot which gave the keeper no chance.
Lucy Ilic could then have wrapped things up when she found herself in space, but in truth the combative midfielder hit her shot too well allowing the keeper to save.
The winner came five minutes from time with a second debut goal. Kerry Naisbitt found Hannah Franklin in space and the new girl showed no nerves, driving the ball into the net.
A well earned victory then, and a very worthwhile exercise which hopefully sets the Ladies off on another successful season.
