The ladies team continued their winning pre-season with another comeback on Sunday.
A slow start from the Ducks gave the visitors the upper hand early on and it took until the tenth minute for United to create a chance. Nicola Hunt snatched at a cross and the effort went harmlessly wide.
Leighton had the better of the first half hour and following a succession of missed chances, deservedly took the lead on twenty minutes when indecision in the Aylesbury defence left their striker free to slide the ball under Georgia Smith.
Smith kept the score down with several good saves before Twiggy Davis wriggled clear only to blast her shot over the crossbar.
The second thirty minute sector was different though as United made a number of changes and started to play with more fluency. Davis, had a couple of half chances before Hannah Franklin equalised with a shot on the turn which squeezed under the keeper.
Very soon the Ducks were ahead as, from a flowing passing move, Twiggy Davis released Laura Gardner on the left flank and the young midfielder made no mistake from an acute angle.
Kerry Naisbitt had a half volley go just the wrong side of the post and Georgia Smith had to be on her toes when the Bedfordshire broke in a couple of rare forays forward.
Naisbitt was determined to score and had a shot saved in the opening minute of the third period. Lucy Ilic?s volley was then blocked from the resulting corner.
A minute later however the scoring was complete and it was the teenage strikers that made and finished the move as Nicola Hunt?s cross was turned in at the far post by Naisbitt, to cap a fine battling performance.
Half chances came and went at either end as the encounter drew on but with a host of substitutions to give players match practice the contest fizzled out.
Another strong comeback for the Ladies then as they now travel to Chinnor for their final pre-season friendly next Sunday.
